Now that I think about it, SP3 WAS available on the Update site
AND via auto updates, but they pulled it due to the reboot loop
issue many had (and some other things as well I guess like the
internet problem). I don't know if it's back at the Update
site now or not.

According to <http://tinyurl.com/6zurr6>, an alias for
<http://blogs.msdn.com/nickmac/archive/2008/07/07/windows-xp-service-pack-3-release-to-automatic-updates.aspx>
you soon will:

"Microsoft is committed to providing quality products to
customers. As part of this commitment, we would like to remind
you that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) will be released to
Automatic Updates shortly. The third service pack to Windows
XP
includes the previously released updates and hotfixes to
Windows
XP, creating a new baseline for servicing."

Microsoft is a also offering a Blocker Kit.

When I installed SP3 in May, my DSL would not connect but
dial-
up did. After an image restore I was operational again. Last
Monday I installed SP3 again. Everything is working OK. :-)

Have a friend who downloaded the SP3 CD file (assume that it
was
an ISO file) about 2+ weeks ago. He has installed SP3 on 4
systems successfully.
