In Windows, the "View" menu usually controls the layout, and TB complies.
You'll see the message pane there, and 3 choices of layout. I like "wide".
I like reading my email in a separate window. I read, I save or delete, 
and the next email then appears. Other than efficiency, I suspect it's 
just personal preference.
