Harold this is a HUGE pain when it happens, and extremely
difficult to fix and explain if you've never had to do it
before. I can't give this a reply it deserves (due to my back
now), but I'll try with something short. The best way of
restoring is to just do an ERUNT restore, didn't you install it
recently?

If you have not installed it, just note of all those "vertical
lines" you see when you unlock the Taskbar. "Grab" those (left
click and hold) and you can move a TB anywhere. If something
is on a "second row" and you want it down, just quickly sharply
"yank" it down. While holding the left button down, one can be
moved into any position you want. It CAN though take a lot of
practice.

If no one can guide you on this any better (and I certainly
hope they CAN), get a screenshot of it and upload it somewhere.
If you can't upload it, then send it to me off-list......but I
can't promise when I'll get to it. ;-) My hours are severely
limited now.

Hello again ... Here's a new one: I dragged the taskbar up to
increase its width (just to see what it looks like). Now the
icons in the System Tray are in two rows, and the Quick Launch
are above the program buttons. I can lower the Taskbar to be
not seen but when bringing it up again, it again becomes a
doube width bar. The Start button is on the right side next to
the Quick Launch icons where it belongs and on the top row. I
made no changes in the Taskbar properties. I rebooted the
computer but to no avail. Locking or unlocking the Taskbar
doesn't help. How do I get this Taskbar to behave properly
(meaning, staying one row high)? --- Harold
