I just read this article http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=4614&tag=nl.e589
about a Microsoft plug-in that has been silently installed in most Firefox
installations with .NET 3.51 sp1.  It opens Firefox to a .net security flaw.
MS recently fixed the .NET problem but left the plug-in in Firefox.
Interesting .... 

Read the article and then you may want to disable the Windows Presentation
Foundation plug-in in Firefox.
