I posted a fix on imesh's forums today, here is what I wrote in case anyone
else finds themselves in the same boat :

My fix :

Um we had the same hassles this morning running XP, even uninstalling Imesh
didnt fix it. I noticed that if i opened windows explorer or internet
explorer it would crash because of flt.dll, I tried just going into program
files and deleting the flt folder but it wouldn't let me, it told me it was
in use.

How did I get around this problem, I don't know if you can do it in 98/me
but in XP/2000 you have to bring up the task manager kill of windows
explorer, go to run from the task manager, click into program files, find
the flt folder and just delete it. Then restart windows. I have been running
IMesh for the last hour from doing this and have had no problems and now
explorer works too.

On searching through google to find out what flt.dll was, according to this
site http://netnotes.denison.edu/~marshall/mt/archives/cat_virus.htm it is a
sort of trojan virus.
Makes me wonder why it is getting installed with Imesh, because it is only
Imesh that is doing this thing and as i said it works fine without it.
I have verified that it is Imesh installing this file before I bothered to
open my mouth up.
Hopefully this has helped you as much as it has anoyyed me .

P.S you may have to boot into dos mode to delete the folder in question. If
you find you can't stop explorer any other way.
By explorer I mean the shell not Internet Explorer. eg: the start menu,
taskbar explorer....
It is actually called Windows Explorer but in the list of running programs
it comes up as explorer.exe
