Here's another service to create a temporary email. Be careful with this one, though. There is no forwarding service to your real email. When the time comes and you need a temporary email addy, you just make it up on the fly and the incoming mail is open to the public. Example: you're at Newsletter.com and you need a temp addy. You make one up in your head, say abc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (all the addresses are mailinator.com). You then go to mailinator.com and type in abc as the email to check, and it shows what mail has been sent there. ANYONE can check the mail in abc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ... PLUS, if you try testing it, your FROM address will show up, leaving it open to spammers, so don't decide to test sending an email from your regular addy. The first time mail is sent to an address there, the address is created on the fly. No need to go to their site to make up an email address. From their own website: . --------------------------- Have you ever needed an email .. NOW? Have you ever gone to a website that asks for your email for no reason (other than they are going to sell your email address to the highest bidder so you get spammed forever)? Welcome to Mailinator(tm) - Its no signup, instant email. Here is how it works: You are on the web, at a party, or talking to your favorite insurance salesman. Whereever you are, someone (or some webpage) asks for your email. You know if you give it, you'll be spammed. On the other hand, you do want at least one email from that person. The answer is to give them a mailinator address. You don't need to sign-up. You just make it up on the spot. Pick jonesy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx or bipster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx - pick anything you want (up to 15 characters before the @ sign). Later, come to this site and check the email for that account. Its that easy. Mailinator accounts are created when mail arrives for them. No signup, no personal information, and when you're done - you can walk away. The emails will automatically be deleted for you after a few hours. -------------------------------------------- . ---Troth To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
