When I shut down my Win98 PC normally via the mouse and screen, there's
never a problem. But let a fault occur, or a blue screen, where everything
freezes and even shift-alt-del doesn't work, then I have to press the off
button to reboot, right?

Then there's a weird problem. The *&#% PC doesn't want to turn back on!! I
have to pull out the AC power cord plug, put it back in, wiggle it secure at
the floor socket, wiggle it in secure at the back of the tower; do all this
about 5 or 6 times, and only then will the PC finally turn back on....!!

Everything I know about computers tells me that a software failure should
not effect hardware, should not prevent electricity from flowing thru an AC
power cord! Yet it seems this is exactly what happens......???

And I'm afraid that one of these days after a faulty shutdown, the little
ritual I do to bring the power back on won't work and the &*$%# thing will
stay dead......

Ever hear about anything like this? Am I cursed here, or what??
