I don't think I explained well. I never was logged on. I have it set to not automatically start when I start windows but a friend saw me as online and sent me a msg and it did pop up here. The Windows explorer icon was not showing in the taskbar. I even went and started the program so it was not on...super odd. Any ideas? ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeremy Naylor To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, October 12, 2002 12:42 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: windows messenger Yes, but you can also not receive messages if you're in "Appear Offline mode". :) At 23:29 11/10/2002 -0500, you wrote: >hey Gail... even if you are marked as away or busy, you will still be able >to receive messages. the only way to not get them would be to completely >log off. > > >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Gail" > > > Due to new windows xp updates...my windows messenger shows me online even >when I have it closed. > > Any suggestions on how to keep this closed until I manually start it. >There was not even a windows messenger icon showing that it was on but I had >several messages that had popped up while I was afk. > > > > It is set to not automatically start when windows starts. > >To unsub or change your email settings: >//www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk > >To access our Archives: >http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ >//www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ Jeremy Naylor. p: +64 21 184 7056. e: jeremy.naylor@xxxxxxxxx w: http://www.r2.co.nz/~jeremy. w: http://e-living.wellington.net.nz.
