I honestly don't know about the new Nortons. I don't have it, therefor cannot
toy with it. But, I agree with you if we're going to be forced to always log in,
as one of main systems is only accessable by me and I have no reason to password
protect the login. But, sorry, can't answer that question for you. Can only tell
you how to add a password.

  Thanks!!! Yes, I have xp.
then do I actually have to use the password every time I sit down at the
computer ? I have several identities on here.

IF you're using XP, you can right-click on MY COMPUTER, select MANAGE, then go
to LOCAL USERS AND GROUPS. From there, under USERS, you can highlight the
specific user name and set up a password.

I probably should have asked this under a separate subject - instead of =
    in my last post.=20

My norton requires me to have a password set up on my winxp system for =
my name in order for it to do it's auto- update.=20

IF I choose to do this, how do I do it, AND - if I do it, then must I =
really always have to log in with my name and password EVERY TIME I sit =
    down at my computer?=20
