My house is 21 years old but we don't have basements out here--unless it's
major huge industrial complexes..homes arent built with basements or attics
to speak of. We have an attic but it's full of insulation so nothign would
survive up there expecially in the summer with 130+ degrees temp.

my house is only about 11 years old - maybe 12. hmmmmm -
my husband finished part of the basement. Before he did that, the cement
floor
was cracked. It's possible something could get up thru the cracks and in
between
that floor - from outside. We have a pipe outside that isn't closed off -
that
was built there in case there was ever radon in the house and it needed to
be
vented. I should get some sort of lid - with small holes in it, to cover
that
pipe perhaps. it is above ground level though - we are brick to grade -
cement
block foundation. really will take sherlock holmes I'm afraid...

If it's that old a house could also be holes from the underside IN the
basement up thru the flooring..chewed. or clawed...you really gotta be a
Sherlock Holmes here.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas of how to get rid of
whatever it is?
