I don't, but my good friend does - she is a tad north east of New Orleans near Lake Pontchartrain. She heard that as of yesterday, she had 8 feet of water in her house. I talked to her husband yesterday - but I haven't talked to her. She and her parents and family and friends are staying in Florida. Her husband said he will leave them there and try to do whatever he can with their house - when they are able (roads are destroyed) and when they are permitted to go back there. He thinks that his work will be relocating him to Houston until their office in New Orleans is re-built. And I believe that they are the lucky ones - I have been so upset with seeing the damage that has been done - the lives that have been lost - it is all so devastating. We were to be flying to new Orleans on sept. 18th to visit with my friend, and to go on a vacation with them. (a 5 day cruise out of New Orleans). We never take vacations, but we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with this present to ourselves - it seems so inconsequential now with what nature has presented. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Wonder if any of our members here in the group live in that area? I know there will be some with relatives or friends. I have been glued to the T.V.
