Phil

I had a similar problem with Photoshop and Illustrator. Finally traced my
problem to a memory chip that had gone bad.
The chip tested bad and when I replaced it.................no problems.

Also 32 MB of RAM is pretty slim. He may not have enough RAM to run Excel
and take care of the OS demands at the same time. My first suggestion would
be for you friend to get more RAM ..............at least 128.

Fred
