mine free yahoo has had a spam filter - sends it all to a separate 'bulk'
folder - where I delete it - you may have to set your settings to use it tho.
and if spam comes in, there is an option to send it to yahoo so they can add it
to their list. It does still come in to my name tho - just not into my in box.

Just reformatted the PC and though I had set the security settings too high
or something. Yahoo Mail is all I'm having trouble accessing, hopefully
with the upgrade they will ad some sort of Spam filter :0
