Open WinMX and look in the upper left corner.  Is there a message that says 
there is a new version 3.3?  If so, download it.  Close WinMX and install the 
new version.  It should work fine.

For what it's worth, I hadn't run WinMX for a few weeks.  I couldn't connect 
this morning, same as you.  I downloaded WinMX V3.3 and it works fine again.  
They probably changed their server connect strings or something.
