Because... I did not buy it off the shelf  in a computer shop!  I ordered 
the components (motherboard, cpu, etc,etc) from a mailorder firm when I was 
in the UK last year and we built it at home.  But as I said, I forgot about 
the operating system... so, I have been using my old 32 bit XP!
