If you set it to back up while doing a service pack install you'll find it under the root directory of your windows install directory (usually WINNT). The directory that it's in will be something like $NtServicePackUninstall$. It's a compressed directory. It should be safe to delete but the files don't take up that much space (especially as they are compressed) so you won't be reclaiming a lot of space. On my system the files take up around 160 megs.
