Not bad at all for a small town. Although, I'm sure Fiber will come around to you in time... I have no doubt it's the way of the future. How much INTO the future is a different story! ---Troth -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Judith Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2005 3:06 PM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Verizon expands 30 Mbit broadband service in New Jersey Download speed is a little under DSL at 696 Kbps Upload speed is 229 Kbps So no wonder I noticed downloading is faster than uploading. But still not bad for a town with only about 700 people. I AM at least 2 miles or more away from the tower and it has to go from one tower in Ephrata to the tower I use on a hill outside of Soap Lake. Anyway it is better than ISP which was 56Kbps and I couldn't use the phone when I was on Internet. No such thing as a second line in this community. So now I have the best of all worlds. Although T-4 service would be good!! Judith http://www.agoodread.com Sharing is the key to all our $uccess!
