Microsoft has ended support for Windows XP. Security fixes are still being
produced by some third party vendors.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/end-of-support.aspx Also
applies to retail consumers.

There are hacks available to make Windows update think you have a supported OS
but you need to beware of them for reasons explained here:

The recent updates had to be for something else.>

Really? -There must be a counterfeit MS somewhere then because someone called
MS keeps sending me WinXP security updates and ‘improvements’ on a fairly
regularly basis??

Did you make a mistake and input a 2 instead of a Z? Or did the router refuse
to allow you to use a 2 in the password you created?>

Actually the password is installed inside the Fios Actiontek router; it’s
printed right on the back of the router and it seems you can’t change it even
if you want to? And yes, I misread the thing and was typing in a “2”
instead of a “Z”.........

And thanks all for the suggestions that I use LibreOffice instead of OO.
I’ll try it...
