Hi Hank,
No, I'm not forgetting that at all. My approach is to have Mikey
identify the items in the Startup tab PRIOR to unchecking anything more.
Even if we uncheck all of them, we still won't know which oddly named items
control which functions. By looking them up, Mikey will learn exactly which
files control which functions and will be better prepared to handle similar
situations in the future. I'm doing it this way because when I started this
group, I meant for it to be used as a place for folks to learn about
computers rather than an answer column. As a result, my focus will always
be to try and find a way to teach the How's and Why's rather than just give
the answer to the problem without any explanation or understanding behind it
(at least whenever it's possible). :O)

Peace,
G Man

Are you forgeting that if you uncheck everything but the systray and
explorer.
all that will happen is the programs don't load at startup. Then you can
find
the ones you want to load.
