Hi Troth, I have 192 MB RAM. The processor is an AMD-K6 3-D processor and it seems to me that the speed was something like 450 but I don't remember. This system belonged to someone else and when my system died, the two were combined into one. Thanks, Polly ----- Original Message ----- From: ~OoO~ To: PCTechTalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2002 11:08 AM Subject: Re: [PCTechTalk] Recommendation?? What are the rest of the specs on your machine? Processor? Speed? RAM? A graphics card won't cause those lock-ups on graphics, but RAM in general will. Although, there can mbe a lot more sources of the freeze-ups. So far it sounds like you need to up the RAM. You may also want to make sure your system is defragged. ---Troth ----- Original Message ----- From: KearnsPI To: PCTechTalk Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2002 9:38 AM Subject: [PCTechTalk] Recommendation?? Good morning. I would like some recommendations on graphic cards, please. My system is an older system that we took parts from another system and pieced this one together because the motherboard went out on the other system. The graphics card is 16 MG Diamond Monster Fusion AGP for Windows 98. When I use a graphics program, like PSP or Graphic Workshop, or when I use AOL, the system seems to freeze up a lot more than it does if I'm using something that doesn't include a lot of graphics. I was wondering if it could be that I need a 32 MB or 64 MB graphics card. If so, what would you recommend? Thanks in advance for your help.
