2004 does have some new stuff.... like the password manager...... I think you can go to the symantec site..and have a clear head to start with..Ithink they mess with your brain... and compare the products...... I use the Data Keeper from Partition Magic for backup and it works just fine. Be careful with Ghost ..if it is not new..as it did not do NTFS files a year or so ago..... And my drives are NTFS. I used the Ghost from a disc a girlfriend of mine had as she did not use it. I do like the Data Keeper for my needs better. I also have Drive Image..but.. Data Keeper is easier for me. It took about 30 hours to image my system...but.. I had about 100 gb od data..and I was taking it from one external drive... and putting it on another external dri8ve... I have a 2.8 mhz system with 1.57 GB ram... so it is not a slow system. Just thought you might want to know that.... The rebate is the anti-virus upgrade rebate. Next year, when I buy my norton, I'm going to check around to see if there are other options that have rebates on them. I use 2 rebates to get it free. The upgrade rebate, and the Tax Cut software Rebate. Some have the norton anti-spam built into them too ! or you can buy it separately! The regular system works 2004 has everything below between the *****'s. That is everything BUT system Ghost!!! Imagine that!
