Can you create a user on computer A and give rights only to that user
then when computers try to connect to the share it should prompt them
for credentials.

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Networking and Security for Win98SE/XP

Wondering if anyone can help me out with a problem here.

I have 5 machines on a Linksys network hub.

Computers A, B and C have Windows XP installed. Computers D and E have
Windows 98SE installed. I have a folder on computer A that needs to be
shared with Computer D. But, I don't want any of the other computers on
the network to see the folder.

Then... another issue...

In Windows 98SE, when you right-click a folder, and select SHARE, you
can input a password for FULL ACCESS... meaning, even though the file or
folder is being shared on the network, you still need a password to
access it and make any changes. Now, with Windows XP, its all different.
If you right-click a file, and hit SHARE, you can share the file/folder,
but you can't give it a password. Is there anyway I can make it password
protected so that any other computer on the network trying to access
will be required to enter a pass?
