Your machine's system probably has a way to find files on it. Use it to find "Acrobat Reader" (as versions prior to 6 are still called), then open it (blank screen). Use Ctrl-K or the Edit menu to open Preferences, then click on Update in the left-hand column. There should be a pulldown in the center of the box with "Check for Updates:" to its left. It'll probably be set to "Every Month", which used to be quite the case until 5.1 came out. Change it to "Manually." Click OK, then close Reader. -- BOB dot in dot jersey at Juno dot com To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
