I'm not sure of the difference between USB 1 and 2 but I know I had a very similar experience with my Canon printer using the USB cable that it shipped with -- problem was solved when I used a different cable (which ended up being the one from my HP scanner). If you have another USB cable try it -- if not go buy another one with the proviso that you can return it if it doesn't work. That just sounds almost exactly like the problem I had. ~Lacey~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sylvia" <sylviam@xxxxxxxx> To: <PCTechTalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2003 4:57 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Install Lexmark X63 problem > > I have been trying to help a friend re-install her Lexmark X63 printer on her Compaq W98SE, 7+Gig HD Drive, 56M RAM (this amount of > RAM surprised me!) > > She did tell me that when she first tried to install it, she got as far as the calibration print-out, but that it would never print > out a document.
