Yeah, I wish I knew that a couple of weeks ago. I spent well over a week
trying to track down what software on my system was not compatible with IE8.
I could not track down the culprit, but it worked fine when reinstalling
WinXP without any other software. I'm thinking that either there were
multiple conflicts or I worked too late on too many nights, so I skipped
something that I thought I checked. I probably should give up when I only
have one eye open. I bet you can understand that G. ;)

Unfortunately now I'm looking for a conflict with the fairly recent Office
2007 SP2. This troubleshooting is going a bit better, as I have it narrowed
down to within 5 programs now.

Ya know, I used to laugh at how often Microsoft comes out with
patches/fixes, but I'm starting to miss the level of reliability of when
wild Bill was still in charge. I'm not saying I liked what the reliability
was, but I think it was better than now. Hmm, that sounds more of a downer
than I meant. I do understand that programming gets more difficult every
year by trying to keep compatibility with more hardware and more software.
Also the malware writers get better. :<
