Your dynamic IP address changes when (1) you reboot or (2) your lease on that range of IP addresses expires. I will forward your question to a friend of mine who is a software/technology guru and see if he has any ideas/answers. He is the guy from whom I learned about leased IP addresses. He is "the man" when it comes to things like this. ________________________________ From: "recklessmaverick@xxxxxxxxxx" <recklessmaverick@xxxxxxxxxx> To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sat, June 30, 2012 4:33:11 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Getting IP Address over the Internet I can't answer your question but congratulations on your retirement! My home dynamic IP address changes every time the computer reboots for whatever reason. Does anyone know of a way to get this IP address from outside of my computer other than sitting in front of it and getting it??? Can I have a script or other program read the IP address and send me a daily email with it??? (I know I can use a static IP address and it will never change, but that isn't an option in this particular case.) Thanks for any help with this.
