Jo Ann, Absolutely. Compare what you're seeing to the image at the link below. Notice that the missing pin and the 5th pin on the other side are only there to make sure the double connectors are inserted the right way. The 5th pin on the one side is not used to conduct any signals. On your connectors, there should be some kind of indicator telling you which end is + and which is gnd (ground).
