Snap. They are both free (and very good) programs. And neither ask for
payment to remove malware found.

Emma,
I'm way behind with my mail, but I had to say that I have both AdAware 
and Spybot as free downloads.  I have never been asked to pay anything 
to correct problems found.  I think one of them has a place where you 
may send donations if you are happy with the program--which I did--but 
again I have never been asked for payment before corrections are made.
