That's one helluva answer, brother Don. :O) The only possible snag I see is whether or not the other OS can actually see a partition formatted for Linux. If it's a WinNT based machine (NT, 2000, XP or Vista), it may still be recognized, and therefore 'Formattable', by the Disk Management console (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management).
