my scan the other day - not a complete scan, but almost everything, took 3 hours
and23 minutes with Norton. It scanned 359,736 files. I have 1 80 gig hard drive
partitioned into 3 sections. Plus a little one that has my old windows ME
operating system on.

Hi, What size is her hard drive(s) and how much free space? I have a
20TH and a 40 GB drive, both are about half full and AVG takes a long
time with several hundred thousand files that it scans. I have it scan
all the files, why scan only some I figure? Does she have it set to scan
everything, including all zip files, cabinets and the like? That can add
time. I saw that milady says hers only takes 5 minutes an a slow day. I
would be concerned if it took that short a time with a large drive. I
imagine your friend has a lot of graphic files. Those may take longer to
scan too, then program files or text files, but I am not sure about that.

I have a gal in a graphic's group I teach and she told me it takes her 6
hours to run a scan with AVG...why in the world would it take that
long???
any suggestions...I think she also runs spybot but not positive on
