Hi Patti,
    My initial thought is that AVG and Windows Mail both rely on your 
internet connection to do what they are saying they cannot do.  That strikes 
me as odd.  My first guess would be that AVG is somehow the reason why 
Windows Mail isn't sending.

    What I need you to do is to run the update again and write down exactly 
what the error says.  Specifically, we need to know the full name of the 
.bin file as well as any error codes or specifics it might be giving.

    I'd also like you to see if Windows Mail (or Outlook Express if it's an 
XP or earlier system) works on the other system with the AVG issue.  If you 
don't have any accounts set up on that other system, go create a new Gmail 
account & set it up in that computer's email program and then try to send me 
a private message from there.
