This is beyond my experience, and i can't quite see the whole scene, but it occurs to me that final boot is not seeing the CD Drive's drivers. hope this is a clue ? i get so much from this group, i have to give back what pops up in my mind. just as 'no question is stupid', i trust 'no answer' carries the same status. jo ORIGINAL MESSAGE From: "~OoO~" <SirTroth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Booting from CD-Rom Date: Wed, 13 Aug 2003 08:20:32 -0400 Done that already. Start off the floppy, run SMARTDRV, go to the I386 directory (cause you can't run SETUP directly), and run WINNT, which starts the Windows installation. It says its copying files to the HD (which is the drive I'm trying to get to the max 200GB) and then tells me to the computer is restarting. After it restarts, it tells me it can't boot from the drive. Which is the whole reason I need it to boot from the floppy. This is an ASUS board, about a year old... and I'm about an inch from chucking it out the window. ---Troth To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
