Dear Friends,

Here is my problem:

I have a serious problem in Outlook Express 6, Win 98 SE. I have 256Mgs Ram
and 25% free space on my System Drive but a couple days ago I lost a folder
in my inbox that was very important to me. Today I lost another folder
doubly important. They just magically disappeared. Where do they go when
that happens and more important can they be retrieved. I do system
maintenance regularly. Clean Temp files. Scan Disk, Compact OE Folders. I
need help desperately.

This solution from the Peacock's Nest worked but the restored folder was so
old it
did not help. I do not know why the DBX folder was over a month old, any
solution
will be so appreciated:

Go to:C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Reveries.PBX

1. Move that .Dbx to your desk top. don't copy it, move it.
2. Go into outlook express, and re-make the folder you lost in your local
folders. name it EXACTLY what the one was that you lost .
3. put something in that folder that don't matter, . ( this recreates the
.PBX in : C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\a huge long
number\microsoft\outlook express)
4. go back into : C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\a huge long
number\microsoft\outlook express , and delete the .PBX it made, and COPY the
one on your desk top which should have the exact same name, into that
folder.
5. Re-open outlook express, and see if your old folder isn't restored...
What you're doing, is remaking the .PBX by making another local folder, and
replacing it's contents with what was in it to begin with..

TIA for any help with this problem,
Don Briggs aka Rocky de Dragon
