Yep I thought of the same thing ... but being as the " C " partition where 
Ubuntu live`s is not accessable to me and not present  ... no access to root 
... the Ubuntu program ignore`s the Ubuntu CD .

Yes I did format with Unbuntu as the only program(OS) present on the whole 35 
gig partition .

I also tried to install Linspire over Ubuntu ... no soap .

I`ll keep working at it untill I figure out a way to reverse this problem . Now 
this hard drive has awakened my " Bulldog tenasity " tendency . I refuse to let 
this little peace of metal and plastic defeat me .... I don`t care how smart it 
think`s it is .
