I had a system crash on my new computer and one of my external hard drives was writing to that disk when the system locked up. I rebooted and most of my entries look like @*#&$284384. I think that the partition table has become corrupted. Any ideas of any inexpensive recovery software? The data lost represents 15 years of photo collection (nearly 1 TB of data). It is not worth spending thousands of dollars on data recovery, but I'd like to save what I can.
