Hi John, Thursday, June 8, 2006, 11:34:07 PM, you wrote: JD> Those of you who read the recently circulated story about this guy's JD> spamming activities might be interested in this version of it, which JD> shows differences in the reported information from the original: JD> http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=115&art_id=qw1149803104247B225 The name "John Levine" in the article should look familiar; he's the one who replied to me just yesterday about PC Cowboy's number emails. The articles' author did him a gross disservice by ONLY mentioning that he's the author of a book. He runs a mailing list discussing spam and new ways to detect and block it in various ways (which is where I posted my question and got several replies, one of which was the one from him which I quoted), and runs Abuse.Net, which is the industry standard method of determining which email address to write to to complain about abuse, and so forth. -- Scott. -- -------list-services-below----------- Regards, John Durham (list moderator) <http://modecideas.com/contact.html?sig> Freelists login at //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi List archives at //www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers PC-HELPERS list subscribe/unsub at http://modecideas.com/discuss.htm?sig Latest news live feeds at http://modecideas.com/indexhomenews.htm?sig Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
