Star Tours Members,
Since money is involved, I'm asking the Star Tours group to participate in
this opportunity to help out some kids with an astronomy related 30 minute
presenation. 2 presentations are requested, so 2 different presenters, or
just one presenter, can take both dates.
I'd like to pin down who wants to do this and do an invoice for it before
this Friday if possible. If you would want to do it for free, that is also
an option, as this group is a non profit group like PAS is.
Here's the details:

My name is Kendal Balas and I am the Vice President of Activity Planning
for the Arizona State University chapter of College Mentors for Kids. We
are a nonprofit, student-led organization that aims at helping kids in the
1st through 3rd grades understand the importance of education, show them
the benefits to cultural understanding, and teach them ways to give back to
their community. We do this through weekly after-school activities focused
on higher education and career, culture and diversity, and community
service. I would love the opportunity to work with you guys to teach our
little buddies more about astronomy and what it is like to have a career in
the field. I am wondering if you would be able to send anyone to speak to
our students and do a presentation (about 30 minutes usually) and an easy
hands on activity with them. Our activities are always on Thursdays from
3:30-5:30 and our little buddies are split into two groups of 12 and 13
buddies in each. If possible, I’d like it if you could come in for two
consecutive weeks in order to speak to both groups. However, if that is not
possible, we could do one week and a larger group of 25 buddies. Please let
me know if this is something you would be interested in and willing to do.

Remember, I leave on vacation Monday Feb 13 and don't get back until Feb
26, so we need to pin this down sooner than later, or set it up for later
in the semester, such as March, April and May. Kendal hasn't given me the
exact dates, but instead has asked for 2 consecutive Thursday's to do a
presenation.
I am sure MIke could cover this if he wants to do it with his meteorites.
But does anyone else want to do it? I'm opening it up to any PAStimes Star
Tours member, since there is money to be exchanged.
