Any volunteers to develop the site? We have so many groups and organizations who want to help and have lots of money but, they don't know what we are doing. I talk about PASS all the time, at the SRC, LICB, BCID and elsewhere. I just did a presentation to the downstate ILCs: some of whom are signed on to the PASS letter to the Mayor. I explained then that we are all volunteers and we did not have the time or backing to put up a website but perhaps we should think about that. If we keep our people informed we would find it easy to ask for funding in a case like this. They're basically begging us. They already have a draft of the flyer, and it says "presented by Manhattan Borough President's Disabilities Task Force and Pedestrian for Accessible and Safe Streets." The problem is that it's all so close at hand. Maybe we can just do a coffee service for about 150 people, but even still, can we come up with some fast moola. I'm willing to throw in something, but not to write the whole check. Can we find out the minimum contribution to be involved. I am sure we have the right people to be on a panel and I am sure together we can dig up some funds. Mike -----Original Message----- From: passcoalition-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:passcoalition-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Karen Gourgey Sent: Monday, April 25, 2011 4:27 PM To: 'passcoalition@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [passcoalition] Pedestrian Safety Forum, May 13 Hi All, Scott stringer's Disabilities Taskforce is planning to do a forum on pedestrian safety, it's to be held on the mourning of May 13 at Lighthouse International. They have said that they are anxious for PASS to be involved in the planning. I've been down at the borough Pres's office to talk with them a bit about planning. They would like someone to be part of a panel, any volunteers? They would also like us to be co-sponsors, which gets our name out there, but it also means they would like us to contribute toward the breakfast. They're expecting 200 people. I already told them there's no way we could pay for breakfast for 200 people. But it is a pretty good publicity opportunity for us and our issue. What's your pleasure? Should we agree to cosponsor? Please let me know what you think.
