Terri, I thank Alex and Don for their input yesterday. It helps a lot. It is
very iffy for tonight. However, I did a 9 forecast evaluation this morning and
it is a 50/50 chance of having a star party as of today. If Don and Alex can do
a detailed update this afternoon, that would help all of us make a final
decision before 4 pm. Right now I would recommend anyone who wants to show up
do so since the radar and satellite images show there is a large gap in the
clouds, and the winds are coming from the SW and the gap is open over most of
the Valley. Also, the barometer at my house has been rising steadily over the
last 2 hours.
I am willing to show up with my scope, which I wouldn't do if I thought it was
going to be very bad weather. If we had one or two more scopes that would be
plenty since customers may be scared off by the news forecasts. If the weather
turns out bad I won't need to unload my vehicle and can keep my scope equipment
in my vehicle for tomorrow night's star party.
If Don and Alex find that most of the forecasts are showing bad weather, I
don't mind cancelling at 4 pm. I just think that what we know of right now is
good enough for me to show up.
I don't blame others if they don't want to drive that long distance on a 50/50
chance. Terri let us know by 4 pm what you decide. Take care, Sam

Are we changing the status of tonight?
With forecasts like Don's and Alex's, we might not be having an event.
Let me know if we need to change it.
I want to get the RSVP's the notice right away if we are canceling.
Thanks
Terri

Hey, Alex, yes, the TV did sound like we won't be having an event tonight.
That's why i always rely on my awesome Weather Team to keep me informed.
We have a lot of RSVP's for tonight.
I'm updating them now on my hard copy because the site is down.
I didn't see you on the RSVP list before the site went down. Have a super day!

Except for the NOAA forecast, the websites seem to contradict what I’m seeing
on TV, which makes Thursday night look like it’s going to be overcast with a
20% chance of rain.
