Any PAS member can attend this event, as long as you make the deadline to
sign up and get your name badge on order. So, when i find out the deadline
to get the list of attendees to the contact at Leprecon, I will let you
know, and by then, you need to let me know what days you are available, by
RSVP'ing in the calendar.
Runner... we invented this title for anyone who wishes to cover for the
telescopes while the telescope operator takes a bathroom break. That means
you have to know something about their telescope, if it doesn't have
tracking, so you can keep the object in the scope and continue to show the
object while the Telescope owner takes a break. Also, you need to spend a
few minutes standing by the scope and learn what the scope is on and what
to say, just long enough to repeat what the scope owner is telling
everyone. So, for that, you don't need to know the night sky, just be able
to repeat what the scope person says to the people who come look through
their scope.
We created the Runner position for paid events. This isn't a paid event, so
therefore any one can be a Runner if they want to help out at the event and
they don't have a scope.
other help can be to keep an eye on MIke's meteorites while crowds of
people come to the table to talk to Mike, or give him a break as well, and
watch his stuff.
I also have the PAS table of handouts that I work with, and would love
company heping to talk about the club and promoting it, and getting
handouts into the public's hands. So, there are many positions you can do
at this event.
And we take turns taking breaks. No one leaves Mikes meteorites, the PAS
table or any scopes unattended, so any and all help is appreciated.
I hope to be able to do all the days, for all the times.
And if you want to have free roaming access to the activities of all 4
days, sign up for all 4 days to help out.

What PAS does is provide a star party outside on the deck at the hotel
from about 7pm to 10pm.
Here's the hours of the event:
Thursday June 23 7pm to 10pm
Friday June 24 10am to 10pm

What I'd like to do, if there is no extra cost for this, is set up a
table indoors to promote PAS as well as have telescopes outdoors.
In trade for your star party time, we get Day Passes to the event. Last

did this event. Many PAS Members assisted but Mike and I were the two that
attended all the event times that PAS was scheduled for.
We'd love to have help this year, again.
I'm setting up 9 separate events. A minimum of 2 people per event is
needed, so that one can run to the bathroom or get food, while the other
keeps an eye on the table or equipment. You can sign up as a runner for a
day, as well, if you wish. Just put that in your RSVP, that you will be a
runner during the time frame you signed up for. It would be so appreciated,
and Runners also get day passes.

RSVP for the dates and times you can assist. This is a fun event. You
don't have to be tied to the table or scopes the whole time if we have
enough PAS Members involved. And you will have day passes, so if you do
some of these events, with or without a scope, you can attend the
activities at this event.
Break up your attendance so you have time to check out what is going on
during the day activities.

What's visible these nights for the star party?
We are dealing with a full moon, however, on Thursday it doesn't rise
until 10:30 and the events end at 10pm, so the Moon will not be in the way
the whole event, unless we stay a little later in the evening and only on
Friday and possibly Saturday. We did stay later on one of those evenings
last year, as we had a crowd wanting to see more.
For the rest of the star party time we have Jupiter, Saturn and Mars to
share with the attendees of Leprecon.

I am thinking of being at all days, for all times, but haven't signed up
yet. Wanna see where I"m most needed and if I can share the activites so
that I may also get away from the table and scopes to see other things
those days. Your help is appreciated.
Once we know what we are doing at Leprecon, I will add this to the Public
Calendar to draw in more attendance at the event. This event, anyone can
attend, as the hotel isn't blocking off access into the hotel and out to
the observing deck. Only the individual activities for the convention are
"Access (Day) Passes" only. So, anyone can attend this event by walking in
and going to the outdoor patio.
Last year's event was awesome. And there is a review about it in the
