PAS binocular enthusiasts,
It would be great if PAS put together a list of binocular objects for people to
enjoy. I have attached a short list of 12 objects, but I know that you probably
have several more to add to the list.
Sky and Telescope has a book of 99 bino objects, but many of them look like
tiny out of focus stars. I hope we can list objects which we have seen and
enjoyed looking at with binos.
When you get a chance, please add to the list and send it to me. I will then
send the final document to everyone.
I have attached the telescope list which we put together a few months ago and
we are handling out at telescope workshops.
I hope that soon we can put the bino list, the telescope list, and a document
describing Bortle readings at some of our observing areas, on our PAS website.
Howard will be leading a binocular star gazing session Oct 22nd in Carefree.
Although the fall doesn't have a lot of bino objects it has some great ones,
and if we start viewing just after dark, we can see some of the late summer
objects and if we stay up close to midnight we can see some of the winter bino
objects. It should be a fun night sky training session.
I hope to get a few more bino objects from some of you. Take care, Sam
