As I "happily" try to find tax documents and then try and understand how to
fill them out, I just realized that I have not sent out my April show
schedule. Needless to say, viewing the beautiful spring weeds will tax my
time and push my more enjoyable pursuits to later in the month.
The final Bell Science Series, "About Time" will run at 3 pm on Saturday,
April 16th.
I've been thinking about a new name for my "constellation seasonal shows"
as there is always something new that has nothing to do with constellations
at all. Then I remembered an old column form ancient Sky and Telescope
issues "Rambling Through (the month) Skies" and call these shows, "Rambling
Through (the seasons) Skies".
So for this months show, "Rambling Through Spring Skies" will run on Saturday,
April 23rd at 1, 3, and 5 pm as well as Sunday, April 24th at 1 pm.
If you are interested in viewing natural events, on Monday, May 9th there
will be a transit of Mercury across the face of the Sun. It starts well
before sunrise so I'm thinking the last part will be enough for most
people, so we will be projecting the event under the dome from 9 am till
the end at 11:45 am.
The Venus transit back in June of 2012 happened before the dome was
completed and the next viewing will happen in December of 2117. So much
for Venus. Mercury will repeat this event in November of 2019.
As usual, please RSVP with number of seats required, date, time, of show
requested. Please also remember that "The Star Barn" is a "primitive"
facility without bathroom facilities. Please plan accordingly.
