More detailed info about this event:
Did you know that area bicycle clubs are building new mountain bike trails at
Minooka Park? Milwaukee Metro Mountain Bikers and the Waukesha Bicycle
Alliance are working with Waukesha County Parks to establish mountain bike
trails right here in Waukesha. What a great project for Pack 163 Cub Scouts to
get involved with! Join us on Saturday, May 11 from 9 am to 1 pm. Activities
will include:

- Trail Building: Shovel dirt, cut roots, lay stone, dig ditches,
install water stops, trim branches - these are just a few examples of things we
might be doing. Each to his abilities - all ages can contribute, learn, and
have fun doing it. Tools will be provided. Bring work gloves and appropriate
clothes. For insurance purposes, you will need to sign a release waiver.

- Bike Safety: I will review bike safety for scouts. Have you earned
your bicycling belt loop yet? Webelos, have you earned your Sportsman Activity
Pin yet? Wolves and Bears, biking activities can count towards your arrow
points!

- Trail Riding: The 1.5 mile beginner loop is already completed and
open to riders. We will take a group for an optional ride on this easy trail.

- Picnic: Bring your own picnic lunch. Drinks will be provided.

- Other Activities: The scout event will officially end at 1 pm, but
feel free to stick around to enjoy fishing, hiking, geocaching, etc with your
family. The normal parking fee is waived for all volunteers.
