Thanks Bill. Chahe gave me a hint on the GL errors. It is from ubuntu version. I will try to see if I could resolve them. Could you send me a sample of the .overture file to have a look? Now, to Chahe, could you help me on this one. From time to time, I lose my ubuntu desktop icons that show to the left of home directory. And when I try to resolve it, I lose my installations completely. I have to reinstall my virtualbox and ubuntu three times already. I searched the askubuntu.com for solution without much luck. I really don't want to go through the pains of installations again. So please if you have a solution, kindly let me in on it! Thanks. I am still searching to! jacob k. adopley ________________________________ From: overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> on behalf of Bill Henshaw <wdhenshaw@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 19, 2014 5:10 PM To: overture@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [overture] Re: UBUNTU 14.04 LTS AMD64 - Overture installation Hi Jacob: The file .overturerc is optional and can be used to set the size of the graphics windows -- it is described in the graphics documentation I think. Not sure about those GL errors, probably don't matter. Regards, Bill On Thu, Jul 17, 2014 at 8:36 AM, Jacob Adopley <jadopley@xxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:jadopley@xxxxxxxxxxx>> wrote: A big thanks to you all. I have completely installed the Overture. I will go through the examples to make sure I understand the workings of the software. I was trying to get ahead of myself, by trying $primer/mappedGridExample1 &2 after 3 that was suggested. I got errors as the software was searching for .overturerc, that was not available in my Overture directory. I am not sure if that is part of the directory or I need to create it! In addition I had errors from libGL as: libGL error: failed to authenticate magic 6 libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo The last one I tried to enable the virtualbox video. I will go through the examples from the ( Hands-on Demo of Overture and the CG Solvers) and then communicate any issues later. One Note though, I found out that I had to issue the make command separately in all the cg directories ( asf,af etc). Thanks again for the help and I will get to speed in no time! jacob k. adopley ________________________________ From: overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> <overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:overture-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>> on behalf of Bill Henshaw <wdhenshaw@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:wdhenshaw@xxxxxxxxx>> Sent: Saturday, July 12, 2014 2:12 PM To: overture@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:overture@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [overture] Re: UBUNTU 14.04 LTS AMD64 - Overture installation Thanks Chahe!
