Linda, the drive won't even read the CD let alone play it.

Download mp3 ripper from the JAWS-Users page, put the CD into your drive, and the driver of the mp3 ripper will see what CD it is. Hit your alt key until you hear it say operation. You’ll move forward with your right arrow. Underneath operation, it will say rip, and then push enter on rip, and that’ll do it.

Hi, Linda,
How do you use mp3 ripper? I could try that.
Thanks.

Rosie, if you have something like mp3 ripper you can put the CD
into drive D and it’ll rip songs without your having to use
Windows Media Player or anything like that. I think I got the
version I got from the JAWS-Users Group page.

Hi, Kathleen,
Thanks so much for your understanding. Yes, I do have a CD player
but what I was planning to do was to rip the David Bowey CD and
then send a couple of the songs to the group yesterday. Oh
well--no can do now.
Wow, that's so neat you got to go to Q V C. I hope you can go
again sometime after your surgery.
Ah yes--it seems like the people who don't need help often get it.
That's not right. Here you are with an injury and your neighbor
gets mad at you for not being packed. She should put herself in
your place. I would have told her a thing or two about her
attitude. It really infuriates me how the sighted act sometimes.
For the most part, I do try to be positive but there are times
when I've had to smart off to a sighted person because of their
attitude. I hate being that way but at times they drive you to it.

I think I would get frustrated too if I couldn't play a
disk. That's kind of a bummer. I mean Rosie I know you want to
play it but oh boy. It's too bad you don't have a portable CD
player do you can play your desk in. Well I think we're going
to get some snow here in Manhattan but I don't think it's
going to amount to much. North of the city we may get more.
But anyway I was reading analog science fiction and fact for a
while and then I went back to listening to QVC. I kind a like
the channel. I've actually been there. Man is that place huge.
I think it's the size of two or three football fields. If you
don't tour the whole thing. But anyway it's really fun. I went
there for one of the weekends they had. They have a weekend
where you could go and meet the cooking show host and then on
Sunday you could actually go to the show and listen life. And
that was really cool. And they actually gave you samples of
the stuff people were cooking and presenting. It was really
awesome. I'd like to go back again. I think that's something
I'd like to do after I have the surgery and I'm all healed. I
mean it's so need to be part of the studio audience during the
cooking show. It was really awesome. And you could order stuff
right there. That was so cool. But I want to go back again
someday. That would be really awesome if I could. But I would
still like to have the other two are as well. I've just been
kind of laying around today too. I know I should start packing
but if I try to I think I would say some not very nice words.
Anyway one of my neighbors across the hall for me got mad at
me because I wasn't packed yet and I told her I didn't have
any help she asked me why I wasn't trying to get anybody and I
said I don't have anybody. She said you know you have to be
packed up by 14 March. I told her that's an impossibility. I
guess I'm going to have to argue with the social worker again
and see if they can get me any help with your plane refusing
to do. So I don't know what to think. But yet there's some
people in this building to get housekeepers and stuff even
though they really don't need them and they have everything
done. But yet you have an injury and you want to get something
and you can't get it.

Hi, Karen,
I left a message for my nephew Adrian. Maybe he might know

Hi, Karen,
I don't know but I'm gonna try one more thing before I
give up. I'll open WMP first before putting in the CD.
I'll look at the options and see what gives. If that
doesn't work, then there's nothing more I can do.

It's not as easy as that. I just talked to a guy at

Well, Windows Media Player is on Windows 10. It is
hidden very well, but is there. I found it and have it
now pinned to my Task Bar.
How to find it.
Go to start, and click on All Apps -- it is at the
bottom of the list.
You will then get a long list of the apps that are
installed on your Win10 computer. They are all listed
alphabetically. Go all the way down to the bottom to
the Ws, and find Windows Accessories. (I told you is
was well hidden)Â
When you click on this name, a list opens with all the
accessories, and down the list is Windows Media
Player. If you right-click on it, you can then pin it
to your task bar, and you will have it for future use.
Or you can go through all this when you need it the
next time!
