I still love bubble wrap and keep it for recycling purposes. You never know
when you'll have to pack and box something up and need some bubble wrap! I've
burst my own bubbles on many an occasion, though, too. It's just fun.

When the NLS used to send talking book records that were hard like albums,
they used to put bubble rap over the records. When ever I got those as a
kid, I would pop the bubble rap. I'm sure they weren't happy with me. It
was fun though and as the post said, it was a wonderful stress releaser.

Bubble Wrap was originally marketed as a type of three dimensional

wallpaper. It didn't catch on.
One minute of popping bubble wrap provides the same amount of stress
relief
as a 33-minute massage.
In 1957, two inventors got the idea for bubble wrap by sealing two shower
curtains together, creating air bubbles between them.
Bubble wrap's usefulness as a packing material wasn't discovered until
1961
when it was used to ship IBM's fragile new computer systems.
