Well I hope they tell you what you're going to do before they do it. That's the
one thing that drives me crazy. Some people don't explain what's going to
happen. Not really drives me totally off the wall. Well I don't know if anybody
on the list just listening to the world series but I'm listening to it on the
Mets feet. So that's pretty good. I'm listening to it on local radio. They're
doing the pregame show. I think it's going to be an awesome game. The knees
feel better today but I think I need to get some work done. A number cause I
want to be able to go up-and-down stairs and then go up and down curbs. That
even hurts too. So I need to get it done. Right now it's pouring rain windy and
in the 60s. It's going to stay this way all night. And we're also going to get
thunderstorms maybe. But anyway the knees do feel better but I'm not gonna let
this go.

Hi, kathleen,

I know the injections hurt but they’ll help you in the long run. If it’s the

injections. Just take deep breaths. That’s what I do when I’m getting the
shots.

Yes it probably is. Well I'm going to colony Place tomorrow and see if I can
get an appointment. I asked a friend of mine he thinks he knows where this
one places. But he told me not to try to focus on the needle and maybe bring
some music. I wish they had music at the place while they were doing the
injections. Because it's a series of 15 minute once. I think you go get one
and then you go back and get some more. I'm not looking forward to it but oh
well. But anyway I had never heard of this Neptune Society it sounds kind of
interesting. Well I tried to play around with safari last night and I found
this website for green burials. But it wasn't really that accessible. So I
may have some people at the church. But I hate to say this Linda I'm getting
a little bit depressed and down because I'm having trouble going upstairs and
curbs and stuff like that. So it's kind of hindering my ability to travel. So
when I get this straightened out maybe I'll feel a bit better. So I got to
get the shoulder fixed too. When I get all this done maybe all the pain go
away. What in Wayland if you have any more shoulder treatments? What are you
going to have your next one? Is it doing any better? I sure hope so. What a
pain in my right shoulder goes for my right shoulder into my forearm. So they
may have to do a lot more work with that. But I don't know. We'll just have
to see what happens. Needs come first then the rest. But anyway that's the
way that goes. Tonight I had kraft macaroni and cheese. Not the most healthy
meal but good.

What is the Neptune Society? Is that nationwide? Well I never heard of such
a thing. Oh well the pre-pre-made it in fantasy that sounds kind of
interesting.

she heard about Neptune Society years later on the radio. It’s up to about
$1800 now. I think she was given a discount since she was paying for both

There is also something that Curt and I are going to sign up for here in
California, and certainly it is available in other states. When we die, our
bodies can be donated to a place called Research For Life. They take the
body, use what they can, (for elderly people, transplantation of most organs
is not feasible, but skin and a few things can be donated), and then the
body is used for whatever research is necessary. After it is no longer
needed, it is cremated and the cremains are then hand-carried to a person
who has been designated. If no one has been designated by the person, they
are scattered, can't remember where. Sounds a bit moribund, I know, but it
is info that someone here may need.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, there's a service called Hi-Cap. Can't

what the acronym stands for, but it's an organization with experts in many
areas
which affect seniors. I used them to help me find a good Part D

Medicare insurance since the company which was insuring me through Alameda

senior citizens center within calling distance? Call and find out what
services
they offer in terms of advising seniors who have SSI, SSDI, Medicare,
Medicaid,
and/or who are wanting to get some kind of funeral insurance. If your only
income is SSI, I'd still recommend that you call Social Security and find out
what types of insurance you can have under SSI for cremation and other
expenses
that would come up around your death. Explain that you are not married and
have
no children. A Social Security rep may also be able to advise you.

Yes I will get them checked out. But I want to meet with somebody in person
and
not over the phone. I guess I'll call Social Security but see the problem is
I'm
on both SSI and SSDI. So that makes a big difference. So that's basically the
way that goes. But anyway I didn't feel safe with him and nothing happened.
So
that's basically the way that went. But anyway he knows some people in my
building anyway at least six. So that's basically the way that went. But I
just
wash my hair I had a nice shower he knows a couple people that I know. At
least
six of them. Are you set a couple of them he really doesn't care for. But
anyway
that's how that whole thing went with him. But anyway moms driving me crazy
about this whole funeral and cremation and whatever you want to call it
thing.
She wants me to get it done. But I thought life insurance pays for burial and
all that kind of thing. I was told it if you got it you could have the policy
written in such a way that it could only be us ed after you die. But then
again
I could be wrong. I think I may consult with the senior lawyer and see what
happens I mean I could be wrong about this but I think lawyers that deal with
senior citizens are supposed to be experts and all this kind of thing but
then
again I could be wrong. The boy I wish you're shocked when I found out my
friend
Charles and his wife were Mormons. Linda I had no idea. Because you never
mentioned it, he never talked about it and he never mentioned joining the
church
or anything. He never even talked about it and it was really crazy. But it
still
was a nice service. Yes it really was.

Not sure you're able to have a life insurance policy if you have SSI,
but call Social Security to make sure of this. Their national number is:
800-772-1213.
I know they'll let you have a burial insurance, but not sure about a
life insurance policy, and those are two different things. Make sure
you let them know you're on SSI so they can switch you to the service
reps whose expertise are in SSI.

Oh Kathleen, I'd have had my knees checked out by now given the kind
of pain you're going through. Please get them checked out and keep us
posted as to what it is that's causing the pain.

Yeah but I guess I was just thinking that people wouldn't know who I
was. But anyway I'm really glad last night is over. Yes the knees are
driving me absolutely insane. But anyway today I met a gentleman and
it's not going to work out. The guy is kind of boring. All he wants to
talk about his basketball and football and I'm not even interested in
it. He came over and all he did was fall asleep while we were talking.
But he left on his own. I just don't think it's going to work. But yes
my knees are hurting a lot. I want to make an appointment at the new
place. The other thing that drove me crazy about the guy with the
Asking me how do you make coffee how do you do this and how do you do
that? I really got tired of it and I'm going to tell him not to. I
guess he's kind of a bit retarded too so that's not going to cut the
mustard either. But yes I'm glad I got home last night but yes these
were driving me crazy. Hello my mothers on me about getting a will
done and all this nons ense. But I still need to talk to somebody
about life insurance. And I don't know if there's any experts his Sosa
security. The good help me without me losing my SSI. But I do want to
have a substantial policy. Man I wish I would've gotten survivors
benefits off my dad. But I haven't heard anything about that yet. I'll
probably here in December they said it would be 120 days. And no I
can't go down to Social Security and take the marriage certificates
down there because I can't climb the subway stairs. If I do that I'll be in
pain and they might hear me yell. I really don't want to do that. Honestly I
really don't. So other than that not much is going on here.

I'm so sorry your legs were hurting you so badly. It really sounds
as though you ought to get your knees checked out. I hope and pray
you're not being struck with arthritis, but you're about at the age
when we seniors get it. It's no fun for sure. Hope your phone works
well and continues to work well. I do like the way it says "from
panix.com" at the beginning of the message. That keeps you a little
better protected, a little more anonymous, and that's probably what
the guy at Panix was thinking when he instructed the man at the Apple
store as
to how to set you up.

OK Linda I'll answer your question. Panics.com is a local provider.
It's not that large like Time Warner or Comcast you're such. It's
actually
quite small.
So anyway when the guy at the tech place couldn't figure it out, we
called panics on this nice gentleman helped him. The only thing is
it's not giving my signature but that's OK. As it used to say
Kathleen a Polkabla but it doesn't now but that's all right. Yes I
want to the service tonight and boy did I get the shock of my life. I
did not know that Charles and Karen were Mormon. I had no idea they
were LDS. I thought they were Catholic because they were talking
about going to Ireland and retiring and everything. Because Charles
has family in Ireland. So when this guy stood up and he said he was a
bishop I thought well OK and then this other lady stood up and said
something and she said sister and I thought she was anon but then
once I put two into together and got four I'm like OK that's the way
that goes. But it was a
ni ce service. Everybody got to speak and I did too I met Charles's
daughters and they're very nice ladies.
Actually I asked one of them Kathleen which was his oldest daughter I
think it was if I could go up and say goodbye to Karen in my own way
so she told me she would get my father. Charles took me up and stood
with me. Anyway I talk to him for a while and he said the amateur
radio group would stay together and we would go on. We talked a lot.
But anyway my knees were driving me crazy by the time I got back here.
My friend Robert told me to make an appointment to get the stuff done.
My mother is driving me crazy about making a will and all that kind
of thing. But I don't know who I have is an executor. That's the main
thing. And I told her I wanted to be cremated and such. But I still
don't know if on SSI if I can even get life insurance or anything
because you know how they are about cutting stuff. But I got back
here about after 11 so I'm writing this now. But as I said it was a
nice service. And I'm sure glad my iPhone did not explode. Because if
it would've exploded I would've been pretty badly injured. But yes I
got the Apple store to replace it for free. So I didn't have to pay
for a new one. I never knew a phone could do that but I guess it can.
And all I can
say is I did it in the nick of time. But I'm sure glad to be home
because I'm really tired.

I'm also very glad you noticed your I-Phone starting to swell, so to
speak, and that when you brought it to the Apple Store, they
replaced it, realizing the battery in yours was exploding. I
wondered why I hadn't seen you post in awhile, but I'm glad to see you
posting again.
Glad the guy at the store called Panix and got the server information.
Unless it's a big company like Comcast or AT&T, a store employee
wouldn't know what the in-bound and out-bound addresses to an
internet server are, and of course, one would need to know those
sorts of things. How did he set up your provider, or does your
cable company have its
very own provider that works in any apartment?

Take care. I'm sure you're on your way by now so you won't read
this until later.

Well I wasn't going to go to the viewing tonight but a friend of
mine in the ham club offered to take me. And I'm glad he did because
I don't know the area. I don't know if I'm gonna touch the body or
just go up to the casket and say what I have to say to myself and be
done with it. But anyway I think she's going to be cremated tomorrow
or the next day. So that's the way that goes. But I can't believe she's
gone.
It's really crazy. But yeah I can finally send messages again to the
list. It took a while but it just said to fix another setting. The
gentleman
at the Apple place didn't how to do it and we had to call my provider.
And the gentleman at my provider was very helpful. So I'm really
glad that this is all set now. Now I can send email and all I can
say is good. Because I was really going absolutely crazy because I
couldn't
send.

vision. That's not a good thing. But if he works hard at it and
learns how to read braille and all the skills of blindness he
should be OK. But it's going to be hard on him. Well onto another
subject.
I haven't been able to send emails lately. I had to get my iPhone
replaced and I'm really glad I did. The other iPhone I had, which
was the iPhone 5s, started to swell up and if I hadn't of taking
it into the iPhone store it would've exploded. The battery had
swelled up inside the phone and it was pushing the glass off of
the metal itself. So they gave me a new iPhone. Well the guy at
the Apple store that set it up, didn't even finish my email stuff
correctly.
When I got home I couldn't read email, and I had to go down the
block to the text place. They fix that problem, but then I found
out I couldn't send email. I had to go back there today and they
had to fix
that.
Well at least I can send again. But it's just
t
ot
ally frustrating when stuff like that happens you would think at
some of these people would be able to fix it. And then the guy at
the tech placed on the block couldn't fix it and we had to call my
Internet provider. And he told them what to do it within two or
three minutes it was fixed. But anyway I'm going to Staten Island
tonight.
You won't believe this. My cousin died last week, or should I say
the week before and then the Saturday that just passed the wife of
the president of my amateur radio group died. So I'm going to her
wake tonight. What a pain in the neck. I'm going with a friend of
mine who's in the ham group and we're going to take the boat over
to Staten Island go to the thing and then come back. I just hope I
have enough money on my card to do that. Because I haven't use
that card in a while. So hopefully I'll be OK. If I'm not well I
guess I'll have to borrow money to get my card filled. But that's
the way that goes. Oh boy what a pain in the neck. But at
le
ast things are finally fixed now. OG I wasn't planning on this but
oh well
what can you do. That's just the way that goes. People say the
things happen in threes. I hope nothing else happens. I hope I don't
have to deal with anymore just through anything. Because I'm not
really sure I can. But anyway I've got my friends phone number so
that's OK. But at least he offered to take me to the wake. And that's
fine
with me.
I'm really glad I don't have to go by myself because I don't know
that area at all. No let's see if this will send. I sure hope so.
