Oh yes, many stations have played Drifters' remakes which sound awful. The
version of "Under The Boardwalk" Fun 45's play isn't too bad. Johnny Moore does
a good job on the song despite being older. Oh well, now that Richbro is back,
I won't be listening much if at all to Fun 45's. They're okay if Richbro leaves
the air again, but I sure hope he doesn't.

If you could also let Rich know how delighted I am not to hear remakes!!
It's so wonderful to know of a sighted deejay running an internet station
who knows the difference and cares enough not to use remakes. I e-mailed
Fun 45's to let them know how much I enjoyed their station, but the one
disappointment was the remakes, especially "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" by a
group which was called the Platters! Ug, that guy singing the song sure was
N-O-T Tony Williams! Gag!
That bad! They got back to me and basically said "Since it's our station,
we can play any version we want to." Oops, gang, sorry I was so offensive,
but not all of your listeners are naïve enough to be able to tell originals
from remakes." Some remakes as youwell know are more tolerable than are
others, but if it's a group like the Duprees which have formed, reformed and
re-re-formed several times, you can sure tell the originals from the
remakes, as good as the newer versions of the group might sound. If I'm
hearing wellover three or four hours and I don't hear any remakes at all, I
know Richbro's doing an outstanding job. Please let him know that for me as
well as the other comments about great in-depth play list, jingles from all
over the lower 48 maybe Alaska and Hawaii too, and yes, I've heard him play
San Francisco's K Y A jingles often, and also obscure songs!! I've really
missed that!! Thanks so much Walt.
