I don't really know, Rosie, it could be, but I have no way of knowing.
Certainly, he sounded older and I'd estimate he was in his 70's.

couldn't always understand what they were singing.
I loved the Fats Domino story! It was under the sponsorship of American
Masters. Apparently, he quit school in 4th grade and an older musician friend
taught him the basics of playing the piano. He imitated the boogie woogie
sounds he heard on juke boxes in New Orleans establishments he could go into,Fat
and eventually sat in with a band leader named David Bartholomew. At first,
David didn't like Fats, but that very night, a guy who owned Imperial Records
heard Fats play and signed him to a recording contract. The only thing was,
David Bartholomew was the only real band leader in town who backed up other
people on records. Fats' first hit was recorded in 1949, "They Call Me The
Man," and it went to number 1 on the R. and B. charts soon after in 1950. Hewas
continued to record primarily for the black market until "Ain't That A Shame"
crossed the barriers to white record buyers in 1955, and Alan Freed featured
Fats on a New York show which entertained both black and white teenagers. The
show went on to chronicle his amazing career. He didn't stop singing until
2006, and the original band was still with him, believe it or not. They said
that even when he was talking about something kind of down or blue, he was a
prince of a man, and that Elvis had called him the king of Rock 'n Roll. He
definitely the first to make inroads which others followed.not include quotation marks:
