Oh no it’s not boring at all!  It’s informative!  I’ll have to get the
energysomewhere to call AT&T Connect Tech to insure I’ve gotten all of the
viruses off of my computer.  Haven’t heard the beep-beep, but thanks so much for
the warning!

It was the scariest experience I ever had using my computer.  I’m copying out an
article from Arcamax Entertainment to send to the list, when all of a sudden
beep beep beep and directions for me to call some number which presumably went
to Microsoft support to remove ad ware from my browser.  So, I chose not to call
that number, but instead called the Disabilities Microsoft I have in my phone.
And, a young lady from the Philippines, Angela worked tirelessly to remove what
was first described as 7 threats to my computer.  However, one trovi wouldn’t
remove.  So, since I have used Firefox and not internet explorer since the onset
of loading windows, this last time, I still had IE 8 on my computer.  So, she
tried to load IE 11, which was unsuccessful.  And, at the same time she was
downloading 9 and 10.  So, the installation of IE 11 was unsuccessful.  So, then
she loaded from windows updates, IE 9, 10, and then IE would update.  Then she
reinstalled IE 11 and Walla, it worked.  Then she was able to use another tool
to remove what turned out to be 21 threats to my computer including the trovi
the other tool couldn’t.  We discussed how come Microsoft Essentials didn’t find
these threats and why it didn’t remove them before all this happened.  It must
be that we’re going through a Wi-Fi system and even though there is passwords on
the system, hackers must be able to get in.  Plus, this beeping one, was, and
is, a scam which all should watch for.  Don’t call that number they tell you to
call as it may erase your whole computer.  So, from 4:30 till 9:00 pm yesterday,
I was either waiting for Angela to call again, or turning off window eyes so she
could get to the desktop and work on my machine.  We did do dinner and I washed
dishes while she was on the phone, the last time, for two hours straight.  I
think she went to lunch once when she thought IE 10 was installing, but it had
stopped in the middle.  Anyway, I hope it’s fixed now.  If not, I’ll be calling
them back.  She advised me to use some program called trend micro which costs
$49 a year for three computers. But she could not tell me whether it was
accessible for screen readers.  That’s why I use Microsoft essentials.  When we
move to our new home, we’ll have cable, and most cable companies provide a virus
software like Norton, we can hopefully get for free.  I know this is boring, so
I’ll stop now.

Vickie, I know the feeling.  I’m paying $15 a month for AT&T Connect Tech and
had to have them reset my e-mail password earlier this week.  I probably need to
have them check my computer for viruses, but not today.  Not having a real good
day physically, and didn’t sleep well last night.  I woke around 1:30suddenly
and sat bolt upright as if I’d had a nightmare.  The dream I was having had to
do with tests, and I was typing up a report where someone was being tested but I
guess thought it was I who was being tested.  Man, I sure feel as if I’m being
tested!  Anyway, did a Microsoft Security full scan last week and need to check
if it got everything out.

Loretta Lynn Cancels Some Tour Dates After Fall

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Country music star Loretta Lynn has postponed shows after
suffering injuries in a fall that will require minor surgery. Lynn's injuries
were described as not serious, but a statement posted on her website on
Wednesday said her doctors have advised her to stay off the road until she's
made
a full recovery. The 84-year-old singer and songwriter was not able to perform
during a Labor Day weekend show at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee,
and three upcoming shows in September have been postponed. The "Coal Miner's
Daughter" released her first studio album in a decade earlier this year, called
"Full Circle. She continues to tour regularly.
